Many of our Golden Retrievers have had a rough start in life, which is why we are so selective about our adopters.  Before one of our Golden Retrievers is placed in a home, prospective adopters are required to meet with a home visit volunteer who completes a check list and home inspection. Information gathered during the home visit is valuable in helping the Adoption Team match our Golden Retrievers with their perfect forever families.

Our volunteers give their time, their homes and their hearts to each and every dog that comes to us for help. Unfortunately, warm homes and loving hearts alone do not pay for the medical care and supplies our dogs need. A gift from you will mean so much. Every dollar you give will be used for the care of our Goldens.   

Provide safe transportation, in your vehicle, upon request. It could involve driving from one boarding facility to another, from boarding to a foster home, from a foster home to an adoption meeting, etc. 

Provide a safe, temporary home environment for rescued dogs to rest, recuperate and prepare to meet their forever homes. Provide food a comfy place to sleep and love. (Note: Rescue will cover medical expenses and special needs).  

Check shelter websites for available Golden Retrievers. Visit shelters to assess temperament, bloodline (i.e. purebred, mix, or not remotely a Golden). With approval, “pull” dog from shelter and arrange transportation to assigned veterinary for medical checkup.

We are always looking for a team of creative volunteers to join us in planning, setting up, and bringing events to life.  

Events help us spread the word about our rescue. These community events are vital to our fundraising.  Most events are held on the weekends throughout the year. Volunteers are always needed to help set up, man our table, and help tear down.

One of the most rewarding parts of volunteering  is seeing a dog placed in his or her forever home! Help us process potential adoption applications for our orphaned Golden Retrievers.

We welcome volunteers in every area. Are you good at photography and willing to take pictures of foster dogs for the website or cover our events? Do you like administrative work? Have time, interest, and patience to make phone calls and keep records up to date? Willing to help recruit fosters for the foster team by reaching out to individuals and groups?
