Grand Strand Golden Retriever Rescue (GSGRR) is a dedicated all-volunteer organization based in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. Our mission is simple but powerful: to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome homeless Golden Retrievers, ensuring they find safe, loving, and permanent homes.
We operate solely through donations—which are fully tax-deductible—and we qualify for corporate matching, employee giving, and volunteer grant programs.
Our team actively seeks out purebred Goldens and Golden mixes, many of whom are rescued from high-kill shelters in North and South Carolina. These dogs have often endured neglect, abandonment, or abuse. Some are surrendered by owners no longer able to care for them. Whether they’re playful puppies or gentle seniors, every Golden we rescue deserves a second chance at a happy life.
While Goldens are our focus, we also open our hearts to Labs and other "Goldenhearts"—dogs who may not be Goldens by breed, but share the same sweet spirit and urgent need for help.
GSGRR runs entirely through a passionate network of foster homes. We provide all veterinary care and monthly preventatives—our fosters give the love and stability. We also advocate for responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spay/neuter education, to make a lasting difference in our community.
Whether you’re ready to foster, volunteer, or donate, there’s a place for you in our mission. Together, we can change lives—one Golden at a time.
