Fosters truly are the front line for these orphans & a critical step in saving more lives! Without committed fosters, GSGRR is limited in the number of dogs we can bring into our care. We have to wait for a new foster home to open up before we can save another dog. However, if we know a foster home will be available once a dog is adopted, we can start lining up future rescues. When you join the GSGRR community and offer your home and heart as a full-time foster, you allow GSGRR to commit to rescuing more orphans!
Fostering dogs for a rescue saves two lives at once. It saves the dog you welcome into your home and it also saves the dog who now has a spot in a shelter (instead of being euthanized or turned away due to lack of space).
More than that, though, you are giving a dog a safe place to rest, get healthy, and prepare to be adopted. As a foster, you’ll get to know your foster dog and be the best person to tell potential adopters what your dog is really like.
